Change is a good thing (Day 24)

Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change

I couldn't come up with anything super awesome for this one so I'm gonna go with the obvious choice. But, really. Who doesn't want to change the world. I watched Miss Congeniality today and "world peace" seemed to be a very popular statement in that movie. So this was stuck in my head.

Never Judge a Book by it's Cover- day 23

Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book.

I love classic novels! My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I did so many book reports on her when I was in high school its not even funny. I seriously think my teacher banned me from doing my senior report on her so she made me read Mrs. Dalloway   by Virginia Woolf. Anyway, it's on my bucket list to read all of Jane Austen's novels. I have started a few but never made it completely through.

So, a picture of my favorite book. I have 2 very special editions of Pride and Prejudice that my uncle gave to me. The first one was red and had gold lined pages. Its so pretty (the one that's pictured) I won't take it off my book case at home and it has never been read. I'm one of those people who likes for my books to look worn but this one is just so pretty. The second copy is a picture book (not like a childrens book but a grown up picture book, if that makes any sense).  I haven't read it either but they sit side by side on my bookcase at home.

Practice Makes Perfect

Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at.

I''m fairly athletic. I can hold my own when it comes to sports. I always grew up as the only girl who played football/baseball/basketball with the boys at church. My strong sport is tennis. A sport that a play but wish I was better at is golf. I play with my brother when I'm home. I'm not completely horrible I just don't play enough to be consistent and that really bothers me. I always say how bad I am just to get a response like "you are good considering how often you play". See, my brother has been playing since he was 4 so he is really good. He is also really patient with me and is a great teacher so maybe one day I can consider myself good at golf!

If I could turn back time (Day 21)

Day 21 - A picture of something you wish you could forget.

What would I forget? That's an easy one... It took place on September 27, 2008. This was the day of the UGA vs. Bama blackout game. It was so much fun leading up to the game. I camped out (well, stood for hours and hours because security wouldn't allow me to lay down) with some of my friends and got to stand front row for College Gameday. I still recall all the events leading up to the game. By half time I was ready to crawl under the bleachers and sleep I had been up for over 24 hours at that point. The black out game the year before is one of those moments I would like to re-live over and over. The atmosphere, the win, the excitement. Too bad that couldn't be repeated in '08.
The lack of sleep and score of the game are the reason I would like to forget that game ever existed.

I'm on a boat. (day 20)

Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel.

I've already posted a picture of somewhere I would like to travel in this blog here

Australia isn't the only place I want to travel. I would like to take a cruise to the Bahamas (and spend the day like on Holiday in the Sun). I would also like to go to Hawaii. Basically I would love to travel anywhere there is sun, sand and never ending oceans.

When I was little (Day 19)

Day 19 - A picture of you when you were little.

This is the only picture I have of me when I was little on my computer. I was a little over 1 here and I was cheering for the Steelers. I was imitating  the player on the screen. Mom trained me from  a young age that I would be a Steelers fan. There is one picture of me and my brother that is my absolute favorite but for this post this picture will have to do. I was such a cute kid :)

When I'm a grown up (day 18)

Day 18 - A picture of where you hope to be in the future.

In the future I hope to be married, to have kids and to be working in some way to have an influence on children. I have recently decided I don't want to teach but I want to be doing something in the future that makes me happy and allows me to work with children everyday! I can't really put a picture of today's simply because if I found pictures of random kids that would just be awkward, haha. So instead I'm going to post a picture from the Disney World trip Ansley, Katie H, and Val and I just took.

It's hard to think about where I want to be in the future when I just spent the last 4 days spending time with Mickey and Minnie!

Romans 8:28 & Jeremiah 29:11 (Day 17)

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on my life.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" - Jeremiah 29:11

"...all things work together for good to those who love God..." -Romans 8:28

Something that makes an impact on my life daily is knowing that I am loved by the greatest love of all, Jesus! I am constantly amazed at what God is doing in my life. Sometimes I look at the sky and my surroundings and I'm astonished by the beauty of it.
I have been stressing about what I want to do with my life (which is the next post), or even next year for that matter, and things have slowly been playing out. I got a letter in the mail from a really good friend who told me that she knows I will make the right decision as long as I put my faith in Him. She told me that life is like one big adventure. I HAVE to start worrying about the future because in the end I don't have any control over it. I have recently decided to start not only looking at the verses in the Bible that tell me not to worry but to start working towards living them.
My future is already determined I'm just trying to get there. It will be worth it one day. Until then...I'm putting all my faith in Him.

I am who I am today because of my mom (Day 16)

Day 16 - A picture of someone who you look up to.

I have written about my mom a lot in this picture challenge, but once again she fits best for the day. Mom is an amazing woman who has always taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to. She has been through a lot in her years but she has always made it through stronger. She provides for me and my brother and we both appreciate her so much. One day, when I'm a mom, I want to be just like her! I'll never forget our shopping trips when I was little. We would pick somewhere to go and the two of us would go for an adventure (who am I kidding, we still do this today!).
I truly am the person I am today because of my mom's love, guidance and encouragement.

I want to go to Australia...and I want a pet kangaroo, only really :)

"My life would suck without you" (Day 14)

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

Oh wow! There are so many people. This is going to be another post where I have more than 1 picture.
***these are in no particular order **** (Ansley don't freak because you fall 3 people after Danny)

My Brother- My best friend :)
Life without my brother would be like I was missing half my life. Since the day he was born my life was changed and I would never be able to think of life without him.
Maddie- Maddie and I have been friends since I was in 8th grade (she was in 7th) I have gotten used to having her in my life and her not being around would be sad. I almost had to experience that when she wanted to go to Tech instead of UGA (boo!)

My Daddy- I can't imagine my life without my daddy because he is the one person I can always depend on and he loves me unconditionally.Besides....I'm a huge daddy's girl! Daddy calls me every night and texts me good morning everyday! I don't mind talking to my daddy because he always knows what to say.

Danny- You would never know looking at this picture that he is one of my favorite people. We have many pictures like this (minus the paint) of me looking like I would like for him to disappear into thin air. This isn't the case though for some reason we became instant friends last year and I'm ok with that.

Becca- My cousin, my friend. We are 3 weeks apart (or close to it) and she and I  have grown to become very different as we have grown but she is still a person I couldn't imagine my life without.
Sara- My little! My side kick! Without Sara in my life, it would be much boring. I don't know how I managed my first 2 years of college without her because now that we have met there is no going back. We will be friends/sisters forever. I would like to thank April for letting me into their circle and stealing Sara every now and then!

Ans Boo Bear- Ansley has quickly become one of my best friends. After living with each other the past two years I think its safe to we have become to depend on each other. With talk of me moving out (which isn't happening anymore) I started to realize that life without Ans would be so different. She would also never survive but that's a different story. (she is the one on the left cheek)

Tina- (right cheek) Tina hates hugs...I love hugs....perfect match, right? I think so. Tina is so trustworthy and I don't even know what would happen if we would have never met! We were roommates too for a year and I think we grew closer. She is also one of my favorite people. If I ever need someone to not judge a decision she is who I turn to!

My mommy- mom and I are a lot alike. You can definitely tell I am her child we look just alike. Mom is like my best friend. I still talk to her everyday no matter what. Sometimes I call my mommy 100000 times a day. I can't imagine not being able to pick up the phone and call my mom even with something as trivial as "how do I make so and so". My mom's got my back 100% no matter what.

My iPod shows I don't really have a favorite (day 13)

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.

So... I don't really have a favorite band/artist. I have many actually. Since I couldn't pick one I decided to shuffle my iPod  and the first song to play I will use that as my favorite band/artist.

And the winner is... Glee? Does Glee count as a band/artist? haha I guess for the sake of me needing to complete this post (I have been thinking about it for days!) it will.

I didn't have time to find all of these pictures but as I sing the song from The Sound of Music Enjoy seeing a few of my favorite things :)

Tennis!

Just Some Thoughts on My Day

Thought 1: Today marked a very sad day for me. 4 years ago my grandfather passed away due to a heart attack. I woke up thinking that today was going to be a horrible day but I just couldn't put my finger on why. I was sitting in my first class and I pulled out the calendar and it hit me, rather intensely, that today is March 3rd and today 4 years ago I got some of the worst news in my short life. I wrote a little about this the other day in my picture challenge for day 4.

Thought 2: Today I had a great afternoon. This weather lately is absolutely perfect and I have been trying to enjoy it as much as possible! Today I did just that with one of my favorite people and a really good friend. That's thought #2 for the day. My friends are awesome!

Thought 3:  My journal has quotes for each day and one of the ones that stood out today was...

"Today is unique! It has never occurred before and it will never be repeated. At midnight it will end, quietly, suddenly, totally. Forever. But the hours between now and then are opportunities with eternal possibilities" - Charles R. Swindoll

I don't know why but I thought this was interesting. I've never thought about a day like that. Makes you think about all the possibilities you have to do in a day and the way you actually chose to spend your day.

I was always taught hate was a strong word but I'll make an exception (day 11)

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.

Spiders- It's that simple. I HATE HATE HATE spiders!

A silly something I hate (but still so true)- The Florida Gators I HATE HATE HATE them just as much as spiders!

A typical Tuesday night (day 10)

Day 10 – A Picture of your night.

This was supposed to be posted last night (Tuesday) but I never got around to it. A typical Tuesday  night around here involves me and Val going to dinner and coming home to wake Ansley up from her nap at 8 to watch Glee. Last night was a little different though. Val and I didn't go to dinner and Glee wasn't on. BUT some things never change....Ansley took her nap and we did all end up sitting in our living room staring at the tv watching American Idol.

This picture is of my "pie construction" (not baking because technically it was a no bake recipe) and coffee. Two things that describe my night.

peanut butter cup pie! (I went a little overboard with the peanut butter drizzle)
