30 Day Challenge:: Day 8

Somewhere I have traveled...

I haven't been many places outside of the south. I have traveled to the beach with my family, to away football games and thats about it. I guess the farthest I have ever traveled (and want to go back one day) is New York. I loved New York. I was a senior in high school. It was so much fun because I got to go with her and some of the people she worked with. The worst part was that the trip was only 3 days. It wasn't long enough for me to do everything I wanted. I remember I really wanted to ice skate outside one night but it rained, it rained almost the whole time we were there which was unfortunate. I happily stood out of the crowd with my polka dot umbrella when everyone else had the stereotypical solid black.
I got to miss 3 days of school to go on this trip. I remember mom going to talk to my principal because the day we were flying back would have been my 6th absence from school that semester and we only got 5. He told her he would consider it "an educational trip" since I was never a problem in the 4 years I had been at the school and he let me count that last day as excused! I was so happy because that cleared me to go. I had a HUGE AP paper due while I was on that trip. Luckily my teacher also liked me a lot and let me email it to her. I remember sitting in our hotel room with the window opened looking out over time square while mom and her friends were doing work stuff. This is when I realized that it was a wonderful place to visit but I could never live there for a couple of reasons: no sweet tea and no Chick-Fil-A.
Some of the highlights from my trip: (being with my mom of course was the best!)
1. WICKED: Our second night there we went to see Wicked on Broadway. We saw the original cast and it was awesome. I can't even describe the feelings of how wonderful that was.
2. people asking me to repeat myself a million times just for the fun of it
3. Making mom pay an insane amount of money so I could have my first taxi ride to build-a-bear (which ended up being closer than we thought)
4. the subway. enough said. this guy pretended to shoot mom with his fingers. yeah. thats an experience I can live without again
5. shopping. Especially the toy store. IT WAS AWESOME! I love acting like a kid and this was the perfect place. There is still one store I have to go back just to go in because it looked cool.

Thats my adventure to NY

My next adventure will be to Australia. seriously. Had I not lost HOPE I would have been able to study abroad one summer so now I'll just have to settle going on an adventure another phase of my life. Followed by a tropical island somewhere. The one place I have never wanted to go is California. Just a little insight to other places I want to be able to put in the "places I have traveled" list one day

Now I should get back to studying for finals!
